The Greenland King Blue Condominiums project includes a 48-storey and a 44-storey residential tower, including an 8-storey podium with amenity spaces and a 5-level underground parkade. The residential section of the towers accommodate approximately 915 units.
The existing Westinghouse Building will be partly demolished but the six-storey facade will be maintained and integrated into the podium, which will include a 121-room hotel, a theatre museum and all associated back of house functions. A public space will take up much of the ground floor, and include retail developments as well as the lobby of Canada’s Theatre Museum.
Downtown West is Toronto’s most lively neighbourhood. This neighbourhood’s vitality is due to the fact that Toronto’s Entertainment, Fashion, and Financial districts are all located here. Until recently there were limited residential options in Downtown West. However, in the past few years the rezoning of King-Spadina commercial buildings into residential lofts, the downtown condominium and townhome building boom, and the massive redevelopment currently underway at the former railway lands have now made it possible for many more people to live, work and play in this urban neighbourhood.
