A 48-storey purpose-built rental tower is proposed at 11–21 Johnston Avenue, replacing three detached homes just west of Yonge Street near Sheppard–Yonge station. Designed by Turner Fleischer Architects for Stafford, the building would include a five-storey podium with 43 storeys above, reaching 163.6 metres.
The project would deliver 524 rental apartments (including 45 affordable units) with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites. It would also feature ground-floor retail, indoor and outdoor resident amenities, two levels of underground parking, and extensive bicycle parking, reflecting the site’s location in a transit-focused, rapidly intensifying neighbourhood.
Lansing is conveniently located along the Yonge Street corridor near the former North York City Hall and the North York Civic Centre. Lansing is a surprisingly peaceful and quiet neighbourhood, considering its central location. This neighbourhood is sheltered from outside traffic by its borders which include the Don River Valley, York Cemetery, and Beecroft Road.
