Situated at Avenue Road and Davenport, the virtual entranceway into the core of mid-town and downtown Toronto, Pears on the Avenue sits at the very apex of the city’s two most commanding neighbourhoods; Yorkville and The Annex. Such an extraordinary location demanded architecture that was as singular – and that is just what Page+Steele/IBI Group Architects have accomplished with Pears on the Avenue.

Despite being a relatively small boutique condominium, Pears on the Avenue has the slenderness and litheness of a much taller builder. This verticality was accomplished by punctuating three white steel frames on the east, north and south facades of the building’s otherwise cool glass skin. But those metal frames, finished in an arresting eye-popping white, will almost certainly become the most visually iconic element on the brilliant architectural composition that is Pears on the Avenue.
